An original Sunday art drawing - Family Circus by Bil Keane 5/8/1966
This particular Sunday is one of the most remarkable every drawn by Keane. It is without question his most detailed and comprehensive strip but it also won over the hearts of all mothers across the nation and in every country that ran this strip. It is a delightful rendering of a weary Thelma on Mother's Day, trying to relax while Bill takes over the household chores. Take a few moments and look at what each child is doing. It is hilarious!

About The Family Circus:
It was originally titled The Family Circle because it generally uses a single captioned panel with a round border. It was quickly changed following objections from Family Circle magazine. It is a syndicated comic strip created and written by cartoonist Bil Keane and inked/colored by his son, Jeff Keane. The series has been in continuous production since 1960, and according to publisher King Features Syndicate, it is the most widely syndicated cartoon panel in the world, appearing in over 1,500 newspapers. Compilations of Family Circus comic strips have sold over thirteen million copies worldwide.
This was a published piece and is hand signed by the artist.
