This antique hardcover book is bound in red cloth boards with bright gilt lettering on the cover and a black-and-white paste-down photo illustration. Spine lettering is also gilt, though not as bright; some wear/fading to spine, edgewear to cover. Owner's name on front endpaper; inner pages are clean, bright and unmarked. Arranged alphabetically, this book lists and describes characters from classical literature, including mythology, verse, legend and history. Black-and-white illustrations appear throughout, including photographs of classical statues and other artwork. 300 pages; approx. 5"x6".
