Pictorial History of the United States, by Robert Sears, 1848, published in New York, illustrated with several hundred engravings, 432 pages + several pages with advertisements of other books by Sears, beautiful gold leaf decoration on the front and backcover and spine (showing each of the 13 colonies, the Washington Monument, an eagle, and flags), cloth hardbound, in excellent condition for its age.
